"Osteoporosis is often called the 'silent disease', patients usually do not feel any pain until waking up or not able to perform daily activities until the fracture injury due to minor trauma or no trauma," said Ekowati.

Not only women are vulnerable to bone fragility. Men, too, especially those who consume lots of coffee, sodas and smoking. High levels of caffeine in coffee and soda as well as more than 1,000 harmful substances in cigarettes can impair the ability of bones to absorb calcium.

"If coffee mixed with milk may reduce the risk of osteoporosis, but it's better to not eat to excess," said Ekowati.

"Physical exercise is not necessarily with the sport but also by doing activities such as dancing or anything else. Unfortunately, the pattern of modern life requires people to work in the building that more or less physical activity than working as farmers for example," said Ekowati.
