Strawberry Minimize Alcohol Danger

THERE is good news for you who are still struggling to resist the temptation berlakohol beverages such as wine. Now you can minimize the risk of damage caused by alcohol only with diligent eating strawberries.

A team of researchers from Italy, Serbia, and Spain have identified a protective effect that has strawberries in mammalian stomach damaged by alcohol.

Sara Tulipani, study researchers from the University of Barcelona, explains, "The positive effects of strawberries not only related to antioxidant capacity, but also the fact that strawberries could activate the body's antioxidant defenses and enzymes."

This study also showed that a diet rich in strawberries also have the effect of preventing gastric diseases associated with free radicals or other reactive oxygen species, according to a report the journal Public Library of Science issue of October 2011. It also slows the formation of gastric ulcers in humans.

Gastritis or inflammation of the gastric mucous membrane caused by alcohol consumption can also be caused by a viral infection or by anti-inflammatory drugs (like aspirin). Maurizio Battino Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy, showed that in this case, the intake of strawberries can reduce damage to the mucous membrane of the stomach.
